Part of the history of cyclocross racing has always included the time honored tradition of gently chiding so called sand-baggers. While this is fun and entertaining, all people involved like to see a level and competitive playing field.

Upgrades are one way of accomplishing this goal. We have struggled over the years to come up with a formula to move riders up the skill scale and provide a level competitive field.

We will have in policy at the Sprinker race, and all future races the following policy for upgrades.

All riders requesting an upgrade will have the total points for their current season added up and then multiplied by .7 and then placed in the new category accordingly.

Upgrade ! it is more fun to ride your bike longer and against a higher level of competition.
